SUMMARY

In the context of the implementation of the Prof DA Project of the “ProSucesso – Açores pela Educação” Program, of the Regional Secretariat for Education and Culture of the Government of the Azores, and of the Workshop “Mathematics Step by Step: Strategies for Overcoming Difficulties for the 1st Cycle of Basic Education”, of the University of the Azores, the authors present a range of materials designed and constructed with the aim of promoting the sense of number in children throughout the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and analyze the potential of implementing them in a classroom context.
