SUMMARY
Learning fundamental concepts related to areas and perimeters in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education requires careful teaching methods. The topic has some sophistication, particularly when considering the relationship between areas and perimeters of flat figures, a relationship that is by no means direct. Good teaching methods for this topic can focus on cutouts, framing, compositions and decompositions, among other dynamics, and the way in which these procedures affect the areas and perimeters of flat figures. This paper presents an analysis of some models used in the quoted article. Singapore Math.
