SUMMARY

Learning Mathematics is more meaningful when students have the opportunity to experiment and verify concepts in their everyday experiences. With this in mind, a project was developed at Colégio do Castanheiro, in São Miguel, Azores, in a 3rd grade class, in which children had to build models of the human body, using constant mathematical tools. This article presents the structure and various phases of implementation of the project, highlighting at the end some aspects that we consider important within the scope of the work developed.
