SUMMARY
The text presented constitutes a documented summary of some key ideas on the treatment of the topic. Properties and Criteria in pre-school education. In addition to being readable by researchers working in this area, the article was written to serve as a support document for professionals working “in the field” (educators, assistants, among others) and as a source of reference for parents, guardians and anyone interested in children (basically, practically all of us). The topics covered, in addition to focusing on basic ideas such as children’s oral skills, the identification of properties and the establishment of criteria, extend to the analysis of typical teaching tasks such as groupings, associations, correspondences, intruder identification, observation and speech, etc. The text is based on several scientific studies and includes the equally important contribution of numerous educators who shared their perspective and experience. Therefore, in addition to the theoretical approach, many practical examples and some multimedia are presented.
