SUMMARY
This article presents some suggestions for games/playful activities to be implemented to overcome difficulties related to awakening the sense of number in Pre-School Education. The games and playful activities in question were developed in the context of an internship, at this level of education, exploring a scenario of multiple connections between Plastic Expression and Mathematics and considering one of the main building theories of the Singapore Method: the concrete-pictorial-abstract approach.
This text was adapted from one of the chapters of the Internship Report of the Master's Degree in Pre-School Education and Teaching of the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, of the University of the Azores, entitled “The game in overcoming difficulties in Mathematics and Plastic Expression: A reflection within the scope of internship practice in Pre-School Education and in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education”.
