CNJM
The National Mathematical Games Championship (CNJM) was held for the first time in 2004, at the Pavilhão do Conhecimento, in Lisbon. Since then, it has become an annual activity, with increasing success.
The CNJM is the result of collaboration between the Ludus Association, the Association of Mathematics Teachers, the Portuguese Mathematical Society and the Ciência Viva Agency.
This competition, which has an annual participation of around 100,000 young people, promotes the practice of abstract board games, which enhances rigorous and creative thinking, so typical of Mathematics.
The day of the CNJM final, with around 2,000 players and hundreds of companions, is always a day of celebration for the entire community. In addition to the qualifying rounds, there is always room for multiple parallel activities, with general participation.
