Colloquia

CGTC

Combinatorial Game Theory Colloquia, organized by Associação Ludus, is held every two years, in Portugal. The fundamental idea of these conferences is to join, on European soil, the world's top experts on the subject. That way, they can share and join efforts on important open problems and spread the topic more consistently beyond United States and Canada.

BGSC

In September 1990 Irving Finkel, curator and assyriologist for The British Museum, hosted a symposium on the study of board games “Board Games in the Ancient World”. This encouraged the regular gathering of minds, mainly thanks to Alex De Voogt, starting in 1995 first on a biennial basis, and since 2001 every year.

RMC

The Recreational Mathematics Collquium | Gathering 4 Gardner Europe, RMC | G4G, are high level meetings where pearls from the realm of mathematics will be shared and appreciated. It will be relevant in many ways (scientific, educational, historical…) and entertaining. What else should we ask for?

From these meetings emerged the organization of a Europe-wide Summer University, in close collaboration with the HPM group. The Ludus Association is a sponsor and partner of the event that will take place in Aveiro in 2026.

JOURNEYS

The JHJP is an annual meeting, open to all those interested in games and their history, philosophy, technique, etc. The goal is to bring together in the same place, for a few hours, many of those interested in games in Portugal. There is no privileged era. We study and appreciate games from 4000 BC to the present day!
