The Lisbon Academy of Sciences, in celebration of the International Day of Mathematics, Mathematics, Art and Creativity, is launching a national competition aimed at students from the 9th to the 12th grade. The challenge consists of creating five proposals for the five missing symmetry patterns on the Portuguese pavement in the city of Lisbon, aiming to complete the set of all 24 existing plane symmetries.
5 Prizes worth €1000 each dedicated to students from the 9th to the 12th grade who must submit their proposal by email  geral@acad-ciencias.pt until March 2, 2025.
